We have several of this machines that we use at organization's Casino Nights for fundraising. Shuffling 8-deck blackjack shoes creates a lot of down time at a table. So, we have people off to the side continuously re-shuffling decks, using these machines, bringing them out to the table when the previous shoe is spent. Doing this process reduces down time by almost 90%.
As for the machines, they work great but take some getting used to. Cards go through them REALLY fast and the cards can jam up. To avoid this, do not try to push more than 2 decks through on each side, otherwise it just becomes too much to handle all at once. Simply shuffle a portion of your stack.
Also, don't try to shuffle your cards with the motor running. The machine will grab the cards on the right side and push them through the machine before you can place the cards on the opposite side. With the machine off, place an equal size stack of cards on each side, place the weights on top of each stack and then turn on the machine. It will shuffle a deck of cards in about 2 seconds--yes it's fast!
Also, with a brand new deck, it's best to fan the deck thoroughly before putting cards in the shuffler. New cards can be sticky and the machine will send big chunks of cars through and/or jam.
Always make sure that no cards are still in the shute. Sometimes a card or two will stick to the side of the chute.
And, get the A/C adapter. These thing eat batteries. Plus, the machine does not work well with batteries with less than 1/2 charge.
This is a good study machine and we work them to death. Again, they take some getting used to and don't try to shuffle too many cards at once, otherwise you will become frustrated with the machine.
